[12] TESTS OF BLUE SAPPHIRE
Given below are a few procedures to test the authenticity of a blue sapphire.
(1) When the gem is put into a glass of milk, the colour of the entire milk will appear to be blue.
(2) In sunrays or in shadow, the original Sapphire will not lose its brightness.
(3) In sunlight it will try to sparkle more.
(4) If Sapphire is put in a glass of water it will disperse light blue coloured rays.
(5) There is uniformity and consistency of color.
(6) On a full moon night, if we keep glass of milk in the moonlight, and hold a sapphire above it, then the color of the entire milk will appear to have turned blue. This can only be observed if the blue sapphire is 100% pure.

(1) Sapphires have the power to keep the eyes healthy and keep one's eyesight intact.
(2) Sapphires also increase the level of potassium, magnesium and calcium in the body.
(3) It is prescribed in chronic fever, epilepsy, weakness of the brain, insanity, hiccups, hysteria, neurosis, mental diseases, and pain in the joints end.
(4) If the wearer becomes prone to any type of disease or any untoward event, then the blue colour of Sapphire will begin to fade.
Although this is not a purely medical property, it is important to mention that a sapphire changes its colour from dark to light and vice versa depending upon the mood of the wearer.
