Coral is a beautiful orange coloured precious stone. Actually Coral is not a stone because it grows in the seawater like Pearl. Coral is a precipitate of seawater but in the astrology this precipitate of the seawater is connected with planet Mars. The name coral is taken from Greek but the meaning of this word is not mentioned any where in the olden books. The oldest known records of this dark orange coloured stone dates back to about 3000B.C.
In olden times, beads of coral were used with other gems to make costly ornaments for wealthy ladies. Women also wore bangles made of coral. Coral was used to decorate expensive items produced for kings and wealthy people. Coral was discovered very long ago, and many ancient poets often described a woman's lips as being made of coral.
